Thread deburring

During thread cutting (tapping, thread turning, or thread milling), burrs are formed when the cutting edge of the tool leaves the material. To avoid affecting the thread's function and to prevent damage during subsequent operations, threads must be deburred, meaning these burrs are removed.

Manual deburring of threads or threaded rods using taps, finishing tools, and cutting oil should be avoided. This method yields imprecise, non-repeatable, time-consuming results, and requires a high level of skill and experience from the operator. Furthermore, despite careful handling, there is a high risk of damaging the threads.
It is best to integrate the final deburring process directly into your machine tools. This will reduce costs, shorten production cycles, allow you to reassign employees to other tasks, and ensure stable and consistent results. This will give you a valuable competitive advantage.
To reduce burr formation even in difficult machining tasks, we are happy to design suitable solid carbide, PCD, or CVD special tools for you, with short delivery times and quick response.
